Jorge admits the pressure is on (08.10.2005)
Cameroon coach Artur Jorge has admitted the pressure is on his side when they play Egypt in their final World Cup qualifier on Saturday.
The Indomitable Lions, who lead Group Three by one point, will secure an African record fifth consecutive appearance at the World Cup finals if they beat the Pharaohs in Yaounde.
"It`s a lot of pressure, but I think everybody here is confident of a victory," the Portuguese coach told BBC Sport.
"Egypt are a very good team. They beat us 3-2 in our first meeting of these qualifiers and were leading 3-0 at half-time so they will be difficult to play.
"Because they are out of the World Cup and have already qualified for the African Cup of Nations as hosts, the pressure is on us to win."
In a bid to inspire the team to win, striker Samuel Eto`o Fils has promised his colleagues a share of US$40,000 if they can secure victory and a World Cup place.
The government has also doubled the win-bonus for the game from US$6,000 dollars to US$12,000 dollars per player.
Meanwhile, France-based defender Jean-Joel Perrier Doumbe, who was called into the squad at the last minute, will miss the game after suffering an ankle injury while in action for his club Rennes.
