Cameroon prepare for Egypt clash (21.09.2005)
Benoit Assou-Ekotto is the only addition to Cameroon`s squad for next month`s World Cup qualifier at home to Egypt, the country`s Football Federation has revealed.
Coach Artur Jorge called up the uncapped France-based defender to a 22-man squad for the match in Yaounde on 9 October.
The Indomitable Lions must win the qualifier to make sure of an African record sixth World Cup finals appearance.
The 21-year-old Assou-Ekotto, who plays for Lens, was born in France but has a Cameroonian father.
Midfielder Geremi will miss the match through suspension after picking up a yellow card in Cameroon`s last World Cup qualifier, a dramatic 3-1 away win over the Ivory Coast in Abidjan.
The result resurrected Cameroon`s chances of qualifying, lifting them to the top of Group Three where they lead the Ivorians by one point.
Egypt`s captain warns Cameroon
If Cameroon fail to win, the Ivorians can still
