Kit crisis for Cameroon (07.02.2004)
The Confederation of African Football (Caf) has told Cameroon they will be sanctioned if they use their controversial one-piece kit against Nigeria on Sunday.
The decision was taken after the Cameroon Football Federation (Fecafoot) informed the African govering body that Puma will not be able to provide new kit for the rest of their stay in the Nations Cup.
Fecafoot says Puma needs at least 60 days to manufacture another kit.
Fifa
president Sepp Blatter had earlier warned the Indomitable Lions not to use the one-piece kit, which he said contravenes the laws of the game.
This prompted Caf to allow Cameroon to use the kit for only the group stages.
But Caf president Issa Hayatou had told BBC Sport that he sees nothing wrong with the kit.
Cameroon faced a similar situation when they were banned from using their sleeveless shirt in the 2002 World Cup in Korea and Japan.
